Heritage Security Services began operation as a licensed security service on August 1, 1980, and was incorporated on March 27, 1981. The company is wholly owned and operated by Lawrence Richman, President and founder.
Officers are recruited on the basis of customer relation skills, appearance, experience and background. All security officer candidates undergo extensive background checks including past employers, military records, criminal records and interviews with references. Each candidate is screened for attitudes toward drug use, theft and dishonesty. Preferred recruiting sources include security training schools, military service, personal referrals and law enforcement agencies.

- Appearance, speech and oral communication skills.
- Written communication, spelling and handwriting.
- Background investigation via fingerprints and state license.

- Honesty and drug testing ... computer-scored pre-employment test to measure and evaluate each job applicant's attitudes toward dishonesty and drug abuse.

Our comprehensive training standards program covers all of your daily security needs. Entry-level guard training program requirements include:
- Certified training in security-related law.
- Hands-on training in the use of tools and techniques.
- Orientation to company policies.
- Step-by-step site training procedures per Standard Operating Procedures manual (S.O.P.)
- On-site job training by site supervisor.
To supplement our initial training program, we continually appraise the on-the-job performance of all guards and bank couriers. This ongoing evaluation provides an extra level of management supervision to assure you of service that is consistently reliable. The Heritage control process includes:
- Quality control audits, by roving on-site field supervisors inspecting uniforms, equipment, registration / qualification cards and site logs.
- Management feedback through supervisors' reports, quality assurance investigations and client meetings.
- Ongoing communication with employees through supervisors' training classes, voluntary education programs, Heritage employee newsletter, and performance review sessions.
- Client feedback through monthly "Smile / Frown Index" rating forms used to motivate the security staff regarding each client's satisfaction level each month.
