Security Officers may patrol on foot, in marked vehicles, or at managed stations to ensure security and protect client property and on many sites may be called upon to assist the general public.
Sites include Professional Office areas, Retail Plazas and Malls, Construction Sites, Gated Residential Communities, Airport Areas, Manufacturing Facilities, and others.
Security Officers may work full time or part time. Officers often work in the public view in office campuses and complexes, airport or plant areas, and at entrances or exits where they may be asked for help, directions, or assistance.
Security Officers may work Armed or UnArmed. Some positions require that the officer be armed. This requirement means more Security Officer training is involved and in many cases the wage reflects this fact. |
