Heritage Security is NOT a school. For persons that we wish to employ, we will assist in helping you acquire your California Guard Card. HERITAGE PROVIDES FREE SECURITY GUARD TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION HELP TO EMPLOYEES!

All Heritage Security Guards are expected to acquire a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identity Card) Card. Heritage will assist in helping you to acquire one.

The State of California holds the highest standards for its Security Guards, and has the strongest requirements in the entire United States. The agency that issues the guard Card, the BSIS (Bureau of Security Investigation Services), requires all of its guards to finish 40 hours of training to be fully compliant with the BSIS standards.

We at Heritage Security require all of our guards to be fully trained and compliant with BSIS standards BEFORE they put on a uniform and start working for us. If you already have a valid Guard Card, we will accept other companies' training certificates. If you don't have a Guard Card yet, we will train you! Everyone works at their own pace and we request that you finish training within a two week period.

If you have a Guard card issued prior to 7/1/2004, you are “grandfathered” and only need:

Firearm Training is not done in-house. For positions requiring a firearm permit, you will be sent to an accredited school to complete training. Baton and Mace/Pepper/Tear Gas, is only required for Transit Officers and is done as needed.

All Security Guard training coursework is done on premises in our modern computer training labs. We are open 8:30am to 5pm, Monday through Friday and all courses must be completed here.
